Description:
Originally PRR no. 2407, this particular RS-27 carried the same road number through all of its Penn Central career and almost all of its Conrail career. For whatever reason, no. 2407 outlasted its classmates in service. In the final months before the Thanksgiving 1979 Alco purge, it received a renumbering along with the last surviving 4-axle Centuries. John C. Benson photo, from the Ralph L.
