| The CNJ logo as seen on the flank of 1954 vintage RDC1 #553 from the Cranford NJ platform. This unit was part of a two-car RDC train running the "Scoot," aka the Bayonne Shuttle, which had about a year left at this time (it last ran August 6, 1978). Riding this service was a blast. I remember a very bouncy ride with very friendly operators. I recall one of them questioning the other about the speed as we blasted toward the Newark Bay Bridge. |
