Before the Pittsburgh Locomotive Works joined the ALCo group in 1901, it built this 2-8-0 Consolidation for the PLE as their #135 in April of 1898 but shipped it out on 5/4/1898. The loco was sold to the NYC in 1907 and renumbered NYC 2-8-0 #9314. Morristown & Erie acquired it on 9/16/1914. The loco was retired to spare engine status with its very last day of operation on 12/21/1945. It was finally scrapped on 10/1948. This is a Donald W. Furler photo. |
