Jim Lockart found this unique diner car in Caledonia Park, PA. This interesting Jackson & Sharp built wooden car car was reborn as a diner car by Bill Putch (married to actress Jean Stapleton) who ran the Totem Pole Playhouse in Caldedonia State Park. It was attached to two wood cabooses that served as the kitchen and dishwashing facilities. The dining car was in business between 1981 to the late 1980's before being sold at auction. This car may be owned now by the MA & PA Railway Preservation Society in Muddy Creek Forks, PA. Does anyone know the current disposition of this car? |
