Having been involved irecently in a major accident on May 5, 1987 in Tama, Iowa, this loco was in for a major reconstruct and rebuild. The loco was restored and eventually sold to Illinois Central as their GP40-3 #3140. The loco was painted in the IC black shroud and wore the "I-ball" logo on its nose. No photographer was listed for the original negative. |
