Here's a beautiful winter action shot of the 1919 Montreal Locomotive Works built 4-6-2 Pacific for the Grand Trunk Railway. A note on the back states "Grand Trunk - after the big blizzard of 2/22/56 train 17 (Portalnd-Montreal) at Allens, Maine." I can't seem to find Allens, ME on any map. Since the GTW tracks are gone now, could this be a town that disappeared too? Does anyone know? S.K. Bolton photographer |
