400 is the first and class unit of 64 R44 passenger MUs (MUE-2) for the Staten Island Railway built by St. Louis Car in early 1973 (34 "A" even single unit MUs, 18 odd trailers and 12 cars 388-399 later transferred from NYCT). The SIRT R44s were the last cars built by the St. Louis Car Company. 400 was delivered 1/2/73. |
