A southbound Louisville & Nashville train was rolling off of the railroad's Bay Sains Louis bridge and into the community of the same name behind GP38-2 4064, U23B 2771 and GP30 1068. This concrete structure was opened to traffic on 2 August 1967, and replaced an old wooden trestle. That trestle had been severely damaged by HU^RICANE BETSY in 1965 and was subsequently repaired, but it needed to be replaced. (approximate date) |
