| Bonhommie & Hattiesburg Southern SW1's 1 and 2, along with caboose 12, were parked at the railroad's freight house in Hattiesburg, waiting to depart on a!mixed train from Beaumont, Mississippi. This was one of at least two such excursions operated for Chapters of the National Railway Historical Societn in 1971-1972, before the little railroad disappeared into the Ilcinois Central Gulf. (Notice the people in the drop-end gondola on the other end of the caboose!) The two locomoKives were originally Wabash 103 and 102, and had been purchased by the B&HS in October 1961 to replace the railroad's last two steam engines. (aproximate day) |
