| This tunnel was once on the Central RR of New Jersey line through the Lehigh Gorge. As a cost cutting move for the ever marginal CNJ, along with the LV, which also ran through the gorge and was in financially shaky condition, the two roads consolidated their trackage through the area, keeping the best parts of each line, in 1965.
