Because of some problem on the CN-IC, Amtrak train 58 - the northbound CITY OF NEW ORLEANS - was leaving its namesake over the Norfolk Southern. The train was seen here on the NS Outer Belt at milepost 4, near the Marconi Drive underpass, about 15 minutes after it left New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. The CITY had Amtrak 77 for power and would run as NS train R20 to Hattiesburg, where it would get on the CN-IC Beaumont District and then regain its regular route at Jackson, Mississippi. |
