The original Bartonsville Covered bridge was wiped out by flooding from Hurricane Irene in 2011. The townsfolk of Bartonsville wisely decided to replace it with a replica covered bridge instead of a more modern girder structure. I believe the last time I photographed at this location was back in the 1980's when Steamtown was still running out of Bellows Falls, VT. This is also the last shot in my Saturday chase. I headed back south to PA after this shot due to urgent social responsibilities (i.e. kissing my wife at midnight on New Year's eve.) |
