Altoona Action. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in June of 1973. Shown here is Penn Central Railroad engine #6123, an SD45 built by GM-EMD and delivered to the Pennsylvania Railroad in October of 1966 and rated at 3,600 horsepower. It's pulling a local freight train to Hollidaysburg with materials destined for use in the Samuel Rea Shop. Partially visible in the distance is the black-colored 12th Street Footbridge. |
