Here is the first of three original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Engine House in Trenton, New Jersey, c. 1954. Prominent here (R to L) is engine #5409 and four more locomotives whose road numbers are not recorded. #5409 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1927 and retired in February of 1955 after 28 years of faithful service. Visible at the left is the Trenton Coaling Tipple. |
