Sadly, this hard working Great Northern ten wheeler #1088 was found sitting in the scrap line in the St Paul yard.. The loco started out in July of 1910 as Baldwin built Great Northern 4-6-0 #1088. After serving the Great Northern for nearly just 18 years, it was scrapped in December of 1928. Specs - class E-15, 73" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 22x28" cylinders, modest engine weight of 177,000 lb and modest tractive effort of 29,190 lb. This is a Robert Graham photo but unfortunately, no date was given for this photo but since it looks like the scrap line, it was given 1928. |
