Milw extra East from St Paul to Duluth on the Northern Pacific. Notice that the westbound ABS semaphore signal is pointed and has a number plate. If an ABS signal was dovetailed instead of pointed then that signal would be called a "distant signal" meaning that it governed the approach to a home signal located at the outer opposing limits of an interlocking. The next signal would be square ended and an absolute stop if found to be red! |
