| CIE 077 was one of 18 JT22CW units built by EMD for Coras Iompair Eireann -- the Government-owned railway in the Republic of Ireland -- in July 1976. Numbered 071-088, the locomotives had a cab at each end and were powered by 2300-horsepower turbocharged 12-cylinder 645E engines. The 5-foot, 3-inch-gauge 3-axle trucks were shipped separately. |
