Gregg Bartley General Now, a neat shot of these would be when BNSF streetruns these through downtown Renton. Right past (or used to be anyway) the Melrose Cafe. If your timing was lucky enough, you could sit there with a sandwich and a beer and watch the train rumble through town right outside the window. The route to the Boeing plant from the north is now non-existent, since the bridge over I-405 was removed in order to facilitate widening the freeway. This, sadly enough, caused the demise of the Spirit of Washington dinner train, which ran from Renton to one of the wineries in Woodinville. Progress marches on... 9/15/2009 2:59:21 PM
