Built in June 1948 (c/n 5150) on EMD Order E873, it is seen here on the south lead of Central Station on the "jumpover" embankment crossing over the IC's Electric Division's suburban tracks. The numberboards are unusual for and E7, which are flush, unlike the box-type numberboards characteristic of production E7's. I have seen another photo of #4017 on this site, showing the box numberboards, so perhaps this is a wreck rebuild, I don't know for sure. It was retired in March 1971 and scrapped. |
