Title:
PRR 4857, GG-1, 1962
Description:
Electrified. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 18 June 1962. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #4857, #4819, #4818, and three other units whose numbers are not recorded. #4857, #4819, and #4818 are GG-1's built in Juniata during 1935; #4857 was built in June, but #4819 and #4818 ware built in May. They are deadheading through the North Philadelphia Passenger Station on their way South to the Wilmington Engine House.
