This solid 2-8-2 Mikado was built by Baldwin in May of 1923 as CMStP 8326 but renumbered in July of 1938 to MILW 426 seen here. After nearly 32 years of service, the loco met up with the scrapper's torch in March of 1955. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,770 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. This is an Arthur B. Johnson photo. |
